That does not sound very promising to me. I need to use my blog then to upload the photos once I reach the magic number 200 in flickr

Now that's not a good point of flickr if it's true...
however I didn't really like the look n feel and structure either. India is, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only - Mark Twain

Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen johathan Spollen
He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Having your own site is not free, but for 6-7 bucks a month you can get unlimited storage and avoid other quirks that hamstring many online galleries - for example on this site it takes three mouse clicks to see the fullsize version of a photo, which can't be >2mb. Most hosts provide gallery software and other tools, although many of those are susceptible to security problems. I prefer to use more intuitive and flexible software like Piwigo and Seadragon.
I brake for Maddur vadas.

I use Flickr and recently paid for the upgrade. The hook has been their tie up with the Getty Images.
You can store as many photos on a free flickr account as you want, within the monthly upload limit - but they limit your photostream to the last 200 photos posted. Their tie-up with Getty Images is tenuous, since it just means that if somebody from Getty happens to look at one of your picks they might ask you to license it. That can happen anywhere on the web, anyway. I use flickr for small versions of pics so my friends can see them, but I would not go to the bother of getting a pro account to post large versions or originals, since I prefer to have more control over usage and access for them.

No the tie up with Getty works differently. Some of the members were invited and you can post 25 pics a month for their editors to review. I have 41 on Getty via this process.
I have now forgotten how I got the initial invitation though

I have a smugmug website http://www.smugmug.com/ and there is no limit to the number of images or the total file size
We also have a Mr site website and while that is easy to use there is a maximum size which is what drove me to smugmug for my photography.

I am really surprised no one has mentioned photobucket. Works well for me. I started off with the free version but paid {not too much} for the next plan up to be able to store my photos at a higher resolution.

One thing to keep in mind is do you care if others download your photos and use them how they wish....?
One of the many things I love about smugmug is that you can set it so done of your photos can be downloaded and you can watermark them all as well in one click if you really want to.

I think Picasa web albums are the best as they have software too which can sync your photos right from your Disk. No need of manual upload.

No you do have to pay for it, I have friends who have an account and use it for commercial purposes and others who have no intention of selling their photos or promoting it in that way but find that the settings there are far better than any other for what they want. I.e no one can 'lift' their photos, no image size, no limitation on the number of albums etc...It was only just launched in the UK in March using Loxley as the 'print partner' this year but at $150 for the year is brilliant!
