...and i just finished looking at the wikimapia link you'd shared and correlated that with the cotton market since I did see exactly the same blanket shop couple saturdays back when I was going around and inside the masjid, the chandni chowk area, etc.

It turns out that wikimapia incorrectly shows the location of the dargah. I've taken a screenshot of wikimapia and marked the correct location.

The red dot is the (incorrect) location as per wikimapia.
The red oval i've pasted is the correct location (it's under the tree), the sufi's memorial survives right in front of the emperor's most visited place.
The green arrow are the cotton shops I passed by ... I suppose they are the same as the location of your photos. So perhaps you did walk down the road ... I noticed it by chance too (but then was able to relate quickly since I've read Khushwant Singh's Delhi: A novel many times over.

Thanks for the follow-up.

That might explain why I found the quatrefoil four-leaf-clover-in-a-flowerpot motif so maddeningly familiar. Does it have special significance?

I'd have thought I'd have remembered the two-color paint job. But we were pretty punchy after a morning at Nizamuddin, followed by a long rickshaw ride through heavy traffic, finally jammed for so long outside Urdu Park that we abandoned ship and took to foot.

@Vaibhav, the carving on the entrance next to the Hanuman Mural would have helped others to narrow down the state / city.

Borrowing a snip from your own photo, with thanks:

I mean the green figure in the latticework of the wall right next to the man's head, and the similar one in red to the right. Boneheadedly ignorant as I am, I don't know whether this is something of the deepest religious significance or just a decorative bit bought off the shelf at the local building supplies shop.

Jomfruland Fyr, Norway! Puzzle closed???

(Though why there should be a Hanuman Mural on a lighthouse in a lake in southeastern Norway is unclear to me.)

By default 99.99% puzzles posted are from India.

The puzzle is from Western India, lots of sand.

Thanks for pointing that out - I didnt notice it . I suspect the significance is structural - the lattice is filled with cement and the back is used to hang photos. Dont know about any other, perhaps you can post a puzzle after you visit the inside on your next trip?

It would have been so for me, if I had visited Rajasthan, covered Jaisalmer in that trip and had Lakshminath temple in my itinerary.

I haven't done any of the above, but even then it seems easy now, thanks to the hints provided by Aarosh.
