Linked to my own gallery because it would be too small to read the text on the IM site.

It appears to be the gravesite of Gendün Chöphel, with verses somewhat shakily transcribed fro Gray's Elegy Written in a Country Church-Yard. Gendün Chöphel is important, but we haven't yet located his gravesite.

The line they dropped never made any sense anyhow.
BTW - this fellow was born three years after the Angry Monk died. Might have been named after him, or could be a common Tibetan name, I don't know. There is a recent photo of this marker on flickr, so I know it must still be there.
I brake for Maddur vadas.

WWTPT(2) takes one to strange places, whether or not the puzzle solution turns up:

When I met Hemant Karkare for the first time in August last year, the walls of his office were mounted with tastefully polished driftwood in interesting shapes—a crucifix, a stag’s head— picked up from the jungles of Chandrapur.

Ah, Bombay...
Vinod Mehta

Since then, he rued that he had little time for family, including his two daughters studying in college in the US, and his hobby, sculpting driftwood. Karkare discovered a passion for it while combing the Chandrapur forests, figuring out the delicate process of turning and sand-papering driftwood figurines. His collection boasted of 150 sculptures. An exhibition, I once suggested.
Agreed with puzzles Chandrapur connection, however puzzle is not connected directly with the officer though the passion for it is common
Posting another artwork from the same place if it helps?

No not Gramodaya Sangh, Bhadrawati, I am sure it has nothing to do with wood work but it is in to POTTERY

The profession of the creator of this wood work was in debate for few days in Indian parliament.

one more creation from the same artist, if it helps.

Moderator Note: @avanishmaurya, is that your own photo? If no, then you need to mention the source from where you got that photograph. I got it from the net is not a source. If you can not provide the source we will have to remove the photo.

By the way it is Lohagarh fort in Maharashtra.

I got it in facebook profile and because it is a very beautiful pic,so i just wanted to know the name of the place, as the place name was not there in the profile. Since, I got the answer, If you wish to remove this pic, you can remove as per the rules. Thanks for your reply and still if its a rule to post own pic only then let me know, I will abide by the rules in the future. Thanks Again. Regards.

Welcome to Where Was This Photo Taken(2) [WWTPT(2)], avanishmaurya.

I shouldn't worry too much having broken the rule about crediting photos once – it happens frequently, both with new arrivals at the thread and with oldtimers. aarosh is right, though: it's an important rule to observe in the future, because IndiaMike has to avoid potential claims of copyright infringement and other such bothers which are really quite serious.

If you stick around the thread, you'll see that it's mostly used for posting photo puzzles and teasing the answer out of the other players. You're lucky that aarosh was able to identify Lohagarh fort. We've not always been so successful with questions like yours, when the poster himself doesn't know where the photo was taken and genuinely wants to know.
