Where Was This Photo Taken? (2)
Is that the Temple Capt. on the road from Nainital to Ranikhet that's on a river right by the road. I think it's in Kainchi.

I could guess, but I give up.

But its true, there are some religious places which promote spirituality- to me, most are not practicing religious places, though.

Aye, Capt... You sure know how to lift them rose-colored glasses!
That one that isn't Jageshwar is in a very interesting and what seems to me peculiar style though. Can we have some details as to its (architectural) background when the location is disclosed?

the style is (to my untrained eye) typical of jageshwar, too, at least the roof area.

Indeed, thanks. Those slanted roofs over the doors and portals seem like some weird European-influenced addition (almost church-like) that don't really fit in with the rest.
A member here recently posted a photo series on so-called brick (or terra cotta?) temples in West Bengal, apparently quite well-known. Then funny enough someone recently posted the same, but for a place much further west (Uttar Pradesh? Punjab? I think it was Punjab yes.) Very distinct style, I'd never seen it.
This somehow reminds me of them; but it seems a different style of its own again, besides it doesn't look all that terra cotta.
Oh well, it won't keep me awake, just interesting. All I find on Jageshwar in a jiffy is it's apparently Shaivite, but I don't think that will tell us much about the building style.
In any case those roofs would seem indicative of rain, and together with the overall feel of the picture I'm thinking of the NE again, where I think I've seen similar pictures from. But to sum it all up: I just don't know.

I've seen the slanted roofs(almost gothic-like) before and was told that they are for protection against snowfall. I believe Sadanand's photo to be the Laxmi Narayan Temple in Chamba?
