Glad to hear we're not stepping on someone's toes in our haste to post a new puzzle.

Hope this puzzle does prove interesting. We were surprised to come upon this temple, and apart from K...P's efforts we've found scant evidence of it on-line.

To keep things moving we'll post another clue in a few hours. (And with any kind of luck, that won't be any help either ).

Is this Jain? We honestly don't know, having encountered Hanuman and Allah on Shatrunjaya Hill in Palitana.

I also don't know. When I googled with the clues of aarosh, I zeroed it to
Sonagiri Jain Temple.

Definately seems to be from the sonagiri temple complex... but probably one of the hindu temples from the 2nd picture hfot2 posted!

Swastika's are religious symbols drawn by both hindus and jains during religious functions or occasions.

Well, you've found the photo that's better than mine. Also on that search you might have seen

which is a vastly better picture of the interior than mine. I take that to be Ganesha, though from the color I'd have expected Hanuman again.

In any case, this little evidently Hindu temple is among the Jain temples sprinkled up the slopes of Sonagiri, along with a sort of a gazebo sheltering a huge tirthankar who looks confusingly like a Buddha.

Gopachal Parvat is situated on the Mountain Area at slopes of Gwalior Fort carries unique statue of Jain Tirthankars. The largest Idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath on Lotus is the largest statue (in single stone piece) in the world. Built between 1398 to 1536 by Tomar Kings - these Jain Tirthankars Statues are a species of Architecture and a treasure of Old Indian heritage and culture.

From the timing of your post, I imagine it's directed at us. I believe you'll find we've been pretty scrupulous about giving attribution of photos, usually by linking directly to the source.

Our only post I can think of that might confuse you is #6102, where we gave a link to the photographer's blog, then also inserted images from that blog to make it easier for people making a hurried visit to WWTPT(2) to see the point. It seemed redundant to give further credit. Sorry if that's caused any confusion.

No, it is not directed at y'all or anyone in particular.

It's just a concern I have, as far as copyright issues go, for this site.

Also, I do take pictures and when I find one copied without attribution on some website, I get a bit upset too - to say the least.
