Where Was This Photo Taken? (2)

No to both. Guys, this is really really easy. If it were hard, I would have told you.

Complicated. Vermont is not like, say Bangladesh, nor even like the Mississippi River valley, both of which get really badly clobbered by high water. But Vermont is mountainous (well, you all, with your Himalayas, would call Vermont merely hilly), and most people live well above the flood plains. The older cities, though, built next to rivers where they could utilize water power in the old days, have taken some pretty severe hits, and in some cases whole highways have been swept away. But we're Vermonters – we take bad weather in stride, bitch a little, then drive around the other way to get where we were going. On the other hand, it's been the third wettest winter and spring on record. Farmers can't get into their fields to plow. Cows can't utilize all the grazing land for fear of getting mired in bogs. It rained all through the flowering of the apple tress (apples are a major crop here), so there won't be any apples. Lake Champlain (sixth largest lake in the USA) is at the highest it's ever been, and by quite a lot; so people along the shores have been flooded out.
The worst of it is that reallyreally bad weather continues, with even a tornado in Massachusetts, the next state over, today – tornadoes are pretty much unknown in this quarter of the country. What the hell is going on?
PS This from distaff: aaoosh, thank you for your concern. Just curious, how do you come to know about our flooding here?

You guys were not active for some days. Googled to see if there was some problem in Vermont and pronto got to know about the floods there. Did not know about the winter but read that Lake Champlain might overflow.

Ok guys. I think I have got it. Here the marble bust of the deity was sculpted to give a human form. Googled this information. Very close to the capital of a state(s).PS: Sorry wrong place wrong state. I need to be in the neighboring state washing off my sins with a dip.

Yes indeed! As I said "Too easy for words."
Did you get my cryptic clue, "if it were hard..."? Don't feel bad if you didn't, distaff didn't get the clue and she knew the answer.

hfot2, good to hear you guys are safe. We have been having weird weather in Seattle too. Just unusually cool and wet. Still snowing up in the mountains. It's June, and we still haven't been able to let go of our jackets.

See this for 217 photos of the flooding (from the Burlington Free Press - the newspaper from the biggest city in the state and the city closest to our village) http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/a...=503001&Ref=PH

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the tornadoes in Springfield are quite worrisome. We have had bad winds, terrible heat, enough lightning to wipe out our telephone as described above and more than our share of rain. Happily, however, we live on top of a hill - and for the first time in the 20 years since we had it dug, our farm pond is full. Not Rajasthan see above.

Beats the hell out of us. Something between May-hee-ko and riverrun, past Eve and Adam's I suppose.
Otherwise, after two fingers of Scotch whisky and a coupla glasses of wine at dinner, bumfoozled. Help!

Beyond that, ate, shot, left.

What about this.

At Agra, the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula completed in 1628, built entirely of white marble and covered wholly by pietra dura mosaic, is one of the most splendid examples of that class of ornamentation anywhere to be found
