This Balaram Deity was installed about 4900 years ago, and allegedly hidden in the large Ksira-sagar tank just behind the temple, to hide it from Aurangzeb's troops. It is one of the most intense, sensual and fun Holi experiences, also along with copious bhang thandai offered by the priests, that Balaram had a penchant for.
