The article also said the scientists are trying to see if they can propogate it further ..as per the article there is only one tree in india but can be possible that this is a relative of the boabab.

Why the confusion when it has been already cleared by troooon (hope I got the o's right) as being sausage tree and the scientific name has been provided by abracax, Kigelia Africana. Since it is not a native to india a funny name has been kept in Hindi, It is ‘balam khira’. ‘Balam’ means lover or husband and ‘khira’ is cucumber. The rest I leave it to your imagination

... And the baobab is for some reason (planted by the Arabs?) plentiful in the Mandu area; hence my original confusion (since the question was about Madhya Pradesh. The poster has never been back btw; so much for overwhelming applause, as usual )

That they occur in Mumbai and along the coast there (possibly washed over by sea?), up to Gujarat, has been confirmed by Snonymous btw. Where was it, ah, here: Red & white bands on tree stems?

Troooon, would it be possible to reduce your pic to thumbnail size so it doesn't take up so much bandwidth? Thanks.
