Why the confusion when it has been already cleared by troooon (hope I got the o's right) as being sausage tree and the scientific name has been provided by abracax, Kigelia Africana. Since it is not a native to india a funny name has been kept in Hindi, It is ‘balam khira’. ‘Balam’ means lover or husband and ‘khira’ is cucumber. The rest I leave it to your imagination

)That they occur in Mumbai and along the coast there (possibly washed over by sea?), up to Gujarat, has been confirmed by Snonymous btw. Where was it, ah, here: Red & white bands on tree stems?

Troooon, would it be possible to reduce your pic to thumbnail size so it doesn't take up so much bandwidth? Thanks.
