wedding albums
who has seen the photographic wedding albums from india? on the plane home from india to australia, the passenger beside me was an indian man coming back to oz after getting married. he had a thick album , filled with the most beautiful photographs, with a lot of decoration done on photoshop (i think it is called) it was an amazing production, so colorful and, of course romantic and seemed to show he and his new wife in their best light. i was very impressed and told him he could probably make a business having these made up for australians for a good profit. he said they are very expensive in india anyway.
might be a good business idea for someone. |

pretty common in India these days.
I have one.... bound in burgandy leather..... about 2 inches thick. the photoshop guy must have been really good because I cannot recognise my husband in the photos. wont comment about my own looks. I donot know the exact costs (as arranged and paid by parents) but cant be very expensive. definitely not more than 5000 rupees. |

In 2005 my husband and I had ours done in Chennai. It was for a wedding reception and not for the wedding itself (which we did in the USA). I think we paid about Rs. 1000 for each album. It was very nicely done and we also got a CD with all the digital images on it. No copyright restrictions either. I highly recommend it. Most wedding photographers in the USA charge at least $1000 US for their services.

yes, that would be around the price this young man mentioned as i was shocked at how much it had cost. but i guess, in western countries like australia people would pay double that, as the quality of the one i saw, was definitely a momento to treasure, down the generations.

The cost is certainly low compared to the same thing in the West.
I forget the cost of ours; in fact we have had our wedding, our housewarming, and Mrs. N's son's engagement all done by the same photogropher. We did not go in for a great deal of the photoshopping, imposition of gods, temples, etc etc, requesting the photographer to keep it simple, but the result was really nice. I don't think we spent much more than Rs.5000 for the book plus video DVD of one evening function...
