Wanted: Advice on Photography in Delhi/ Shimla/ Manali with Nikon L1 in April

Hi guys,

Readers of this thread in this forum, experienced in photography will find my questions silly but I confess that my knowledge about photography is close to zero (I know how to point the camera and shoot though! )

I use a Nikon Coolpix L1 digital camera. I want to request the experienced photographers to give me some hints and advice on taking pictures during my tour of Delhi/ Agra/ Shimla/ Manali in April this year. I want to take some memorable photos of the trip. I'm about average in taking pictures, but sometimes on returning home I see my work and feeling like

Some situations where I'd specifically like some help.

1. Best position, settings for photographing the Taj Mahal at Agra.

2. Photographing the landscapes/ mountains in Shimla/Manali.

3. Taking photos of sunrises and sunsets especially in mountains.

4. Any particular settings for photographing in snow.

5. Should I use the preset settings for (landscape, dusk/dawn/ night mode, sunset, snow etc).

6. Taking photos of the mountain ranges in a moonlit night.

7. Taking photos from a moving vehicle (train/bus). Sometimes one sees this fabulous sight from the highway/ train and cannot stop for taking pics).

8. Is it true that battery-cells get discharged much earlier than normal in cold climates/ high altitudes? If so, what precautions should I take?

Any other advice would be most welcome

I think Nikon L1 has all the presets for your above mentioned photographic needs.. so don't worry & just go through the manual of your digicam and take lot of snaps....
