Tokina 11-16 lens

Anybody using the Tokina 11-16 lens? Where it could be found in India, specifically Kolkata? MM of Kolkata told me that they do not keep it...but in an ad of Tokina I found them as the stockist.

Yes Biman....Initially I was eyeing on the Sigma 10-20 but after some study...I came down on the Tokina 11-16....but I problem is I do not know where to find it.

If you need f/2.8, you need it! But, a lens as wide as this one would most probably be used only for landscape shots and you will be stopping down anyway (to say f/8 on crop or f/16 on FF). I haven't used the Tokina, but I have used the Canon 10-22, which was fabulous. Are you looking for a Nikon mount?

Yes..I am looking for Nikon mount. The Canon 10-22 is excellent...but it is not my option. And as per the reviews, the Tokina 11-16 is very good, and much cheaper the Nikon 10-24 on offer. I will be using it for landscape shots and I am primarily a landscape photographer. Another thing is that the f2.8 might help as I try out photographing in moonlight also.

Hi Bhaswaran, have you got Tokina 11-16? If so, from where? How much did you pay? I checked in Jayesh Mehta's store here in Bangalore and he said it's not in stock and if someone is in need he can get it! But I heard it's freaking 'cheap' in the US at least compared to Indian market price. Even I have plans to go for a wide angle though still wondering if I need to experiment more with the kit lens (18-55) before investing for wide angle

I might get it in a week or two but prices are higher this time as it is not in stock (INR 31-31k)

Not really. 11-16 F2.8 is about 600+ USD plus in NYC. Which is a major camera market in the world. SOme lens, I do agree that some lens are indeed cheaper, but not all.

Oh really? One of my friends told its cheap there, though not sure if he was referring to Thanks giving sales.
