Slum Photography and Fashion Photography (not together!)
Slum Photography and Fashion Photography (not together!)
I need to get in two separate articles in by early next month for publications; one has to cover slums and the other has to cover Indian fashion. Questions:
(1) Where's a slum in Delhi that's photogenic and relatively safe? I do not want to get robbed of my camera :|
(2) How in this part of the world do I find models? I don't want the supermodels or anything but regular people--although they might end up featuring in TIME magazine. I can pay a bit for this. I also need a mini-studio or location for the shoot. Any recommendations on how to go about this?

(1) Catch hold of the NGO folks - they'd surely be able to take you to the likes of Yamuna Pushta etc etc safely
(2) I'm confused - if you can get it published in TIME, surely you'd know the answer better than most IMers, no?

SMASH!!!!
(1) Any suggestions for the NGOs?
(2) Publishing in the TIME is not as hard as it sounds, especially after I managed to sneak in articles last year very successfully. However, finding people in NY was much easier than approaching random people in India! And trust me on this, Indian models are way more expensive that American or European models

Go to the SOS Children's village in Greenfields (Faridabad, about 20 km south of Delhi). Do something positive instead of slumming (slumdogging?) around. And if you see Rahman, tell him to throw that effing autotune in the Yamuna - jaiho my arse.
I brake for Maddur vadas.
on the rahman thing. Similar Threads
