For my next India trip I will bring a small photo printer.
I really look forward to how this will work out. Maybe I'll find the whole village lining up, once they've discovered, that I will handout some prints... ;-)

What a great idea for a project - photos of village people looking at their photos or posing with their photos

Nearly 30 years ago, I made a visit to Bali - took a photo of a young child in a rice paddy & as soon as I was done, out shot his hand asking for money.
As previously mentioned - it's other tourists who have been there before you who set the trend and often, with dire consequences. Larsomat, I would suggest that you don't bring a printer unit with you - aside from the weight & consumables issue, it would be better to get some photos developed by a local store and send the photos to the people who give you their name/address. It would also cost you considerably less and, it would support the local businesses if you use their facilities. Cheers Zoltan

That's a very good point.
The local printing charges are probably less than your own costs would be. |

Probably, but I'm all set already. It's less than 1,5 kg of extra weight.
And sending prints via mail is just not the same. The fun is worth the extra money. |
