Abhirup,
Now a days the price difference between grey market and with proper bill is very narrow.
So, it is better to buy with proper warranty and bill.

Treat grey-market like buying second-hand (who knows: you might be!). If you would be happy with the camera at that price as a second-hand deal, go for it. All the risk is yours.

Otherwise, stick to the relative security of a Billed with Warranty purchase from an authorised dealer.

This is the benchmark against all refurbished Canon products should be evaluated.

There are a couple of stores in NYC (which have a worldwide clientele) who also have a solid reputation on refurb or demo units. Now take the pricing and description and then adjust for local margins.

Have you tried searching this web site?

http://www.canon.co.in/

canon India have a contact e-mail. Maybe you could ask them.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Depends on what kind of warrantees you buy. Store Repair ? US only ? International ? There are a couple of shops here that are authorized service centers for many companies.

Wanting to buy canon 550d

Hi all...

I am interested in buying canon 550d. ezone price is 33.5k while MM in Kolkata is charging 29.8k with bill... I just want to know whether it is safe to buy from MM... Someone above has mentioned that they are the authorized dealer for canon and nikon.. is this really true?

Please advise...
