The beach is in the east & is it by any chance somwehere along the East coast road connecting Chennai & Pondicherry?

The other end of the runway in your picture will have 31 on it (360 -50)! Still no idea where it is though.  If you have not much better to do, check out Heathrow on Google Earth. Its main runways face due East-West (90 and 270 degrees). As there's two parallel runways, pilots are told to use 27 left (for instance). You can clearly see the R or L under the runway numbers. I knew my pilot licence would come in handy one day!  |

I'm surprised nobody has guessed this one yet, a runway with a beach to the south, in India, there can't be too many. |

Having scoured the coast, it's near a place called Dangarvadi. But I bet GrantAustralia has the right airport name.
