Trivandrum airport?
I dropped my girlfriend off there, and remember the runway right beside the beach..... |

There are airports on the west coast with a similar outlook. Dabolim for instance (though its runway is at 80 degrees; Steven's one being 50)

Yes ... It's actually 05 (the writing faces the pilot during landing). They miss off the last digit and number runways to the nearest 10 degrees; so to land on runway 23 you'd be heading 230 degrees.
The other end of the runway in your picture will have 31 on it (360 -50)! Still no idea where it is though. ![]() If you have not much better to do, check out Heathrow on Google Earth. Its main runways face due East-West (90 and 270 degrees). As there's two parallel runways, pilots are told to use 27 left (for instance). You can clearly see the R or L under the runway numbers. I knew my pilot licence would come in handy one day! ![]() |

Thanks ba9rn for the info.
I'm surprised nobody has guessed this one yet, a runway with a beach to the south, in India, there can't be too many. |

Having scoured the coast, it's near a place called Dangarvadi. But I bet GrantAustralia has the right airport name.
