Glimpses of India
I have a rather, un bound book , [its falling apart and should be rebound] of the above title.
Described as 'The land of Antiquity and the Empire of the East' 1985 As the images are no longer copyright protected I thought I might send some to IM. However on looking up one of the photographers on the web. I found this link http://www.luminous-lint.com/__sw.ph...BCDEFGHI JKLN. If there are any more attributed photgraphs and anyone is interested. Ill try to find the links |

Why would you want to upload photos that are not your own?

Sorry WW I was not around in 1895.
The photographs are of historical interest. Perhaps it should be in photography, but its not exactly geek stuff. Here are the names of the other participating photographers. Samuel Bourne http://www.harappa.com/photographers/bournesamuel.html Lala Deen Dyal http://photography.about.com/library.../aa120803a.htm Barton son Bangalore Dadabhoy Multan |

Perhaps WW had not visited the link (which has some interesting photos by the way - thanks), and was relying on the date you provided in the first post (hint: it is an anagram of the true date!).

Thanks ba9rn.
Please excuse my mistake, my fingers have a bad habit of going their own way sometimes. Aishah....... a history thread would unearth many hidden gems which I have found in other forums, its up to the boss |

Beyond that, however, I think it's fine to link to those websites, but I do not think it's appropriate to scan and upload these old photos to our gallery, which I understood was for members' photos. I'm sure Nadreg will address this subject when it's necessary. |
