Film Availability
I may be travelling to India next year.
I will be going to Punjab & HP Does anybody know what the availability of APS camera fim is ? I have a Minolta and can't really afford a digital yet. Is this film format widely available ?? Also what is the availability of Mini DV digital video cassettes. Would it be cheaper to buy in the UK or in India. Regards H |

We can hardly find film here in California. Costco, an enormous chain of "warehouse stores" has stopped carrying it, and VHS tapes as well.
If you have film at home, you better take some. |

Suspect that the price will depend on where you shop.

I think the ones I was offered where smuggled ones. No idea whether smuggler market prices are any good. And how well Mini DV cassettes using cameras are selling there, considering the many new formats coming up.

The problem will be that is you find APS; they probably didn't get best storage conditions. I mean they kept in the direct sun or in hot and humid place.
My advice (as I did) - buy stoke in your home town, store them correctly until travel and ask at the airport the check them manually at the security gate (don't send them in the luggage). Good luck and happy shooting. P.S. there is a big photo store at Delhi- Delhi Photo Company (I think is the name) and they seems to be pretty good and big store, maybe they will have APS (but you should know that in advance). the store is near C.P. I think in Janpath. |
