Film and slide

I will be there in about 3 weeks for six months. It is not my first time so I passed from a beloved yashica fx3 to a lumix fx-60 that takes ok photos but it is not the same. I am really not sure about getting a digital reflex and I have a yashica109 brand new I would like to take with me... if I can give it any use.

So my question is for anybody in India right now: is it possible still to find and process film and slides in India? The camera as you know is big and heavy and wouldn't like to take some useless item with me this time, if I can avoid it . Have a look and let me know. Thanks for any info.

Yes, they are available but not widely as used to be the case. Mention the places you would be visiting to get a better reply about outlets.

but must be:

I am free... if my buddy in Paharganj is open still I could buy some film and keep it with me or send it to him.

In Mumbai I bought film from a fixer who works for a bollywood production company located in Andheri(W). In Delhi, Mahata in CP.

@Nycank thank you very much. I just came to know there are some in Delhi as well (a good friend of mine had a look) included the very well known Mahatta studio in CP.

Apart from a great Studio, Madan Mahatta was a great photographer. I spent hours on end, one whole summer, in his office, upstairs peering through negatives on a light table when I was young.

Are black n white and slow speed slide films available somewhere in Delhi anymore?
