Digital cameras in Delhi??

anyone know any good camera shops in delhi to buy digital cameras..
do U think its wise to buy this equipement there.

depends on what type of digital camera u wanna buy,
check out www.jjmehta.com for indicative pricing, u should be able to buy at much better prices than the website in Delhi @ palika or Chandni chowk.

also consider the local warranty issues if u r planning to spend on DSLR , as most of the brands do not offer international warranty anymore

Digital Cameras can also be found in the shops in Nehru Place (not Nehru Park) near Greater Kailash. The whole area is a veritable warren for computers, software and textiles. Some of the shops have digital cameras. Bargin hard and check the warranty - it's a case of buyer beware.

You have two options here:

Option A - Buy digicam from authorised retailer of Kodak, Sony, Nikon or Canon. They are based in all big metros. The warranty they will give will be valid only in India (to my knowledge), so if u wanna take the cam back with you, u stand to lose out on the warranty! Also, prices will be high here coz of duty imposed by govt.

Option B - Buy from grey market. Basically pieces from singapore/ taiwan that are brought into the country and sold unofficially - without any bill or warranty. Prices will be much lower to that of the retail price. Places to look for in Delhi - Palika Bazar and Chandni Chowk. Go with a reference to get authentic stuff. Nehru Place is a computer market - not the right place to look for cams.
