Cleaning Camera Lens
How you clean camera lenses? I am using a piece of soft Yellow Velvet like cloth available in the Spec shops. Can i use normal distilled water while wiping? I have heard special type of papers are avilable to wipe out camera lenses.Where this is available in Calcutta? There is also a liquid available which people say draws moisture and dirt more and ultimately damages the lens Motor in Indian condition. What is the way of cleaning it?? in small circles (like cd) or in soft zigzag ???Can wiping wrongly damage the lens (like cds and video heads)??? |

Just use the lens cloth you have -- it's microfiber, right? Don't ever use liquid of any kind. Try to brush off any particles, then wipe gently, only over the places that are obviously smudged.
I assume you are talking about cleaning a lens' front element. Do you have a filter on it? If not, it's always best to keep your lens protected by a quality UV filter, which just screws on and can be removed and cleaned. No need to worry unnecessarily about cleaning your lens; just don't overdo it. |
