CanonSX150 IS or Fujifilm S2980 or Olympus SP 610UZ

Which of the three would you buy if you were in my place.

The Canon has a better service network. Link
The Olympus looks better and has better zoom. Link
The Fujifilm has an optical viewfinder. Link

Other than that, they're pretty even, I guess.(Though I am a complete noob)

The links have been given alongside.

Are you sure? I think it has only an electronic viewfinder.

If I were in your position I might have chosen Fujifilm, mainly due to the viewfinder that will enable me to hold the camera tightly close to the face. But it'll be you who will be using it and so you know best what suits your needs best. Happy clicking.

I wanted to convey tat it looks like a through the lens viewfinder, but now I am not sure.

How does one differentiate between an optical and electronic viewfinder?

I took the Canon SX150 IS to India. It has an amazing zoom lens, 48X optical-digital combined that allowed for shots I would have missed with a lesser camera. I took about 800 pictures with it. I liked that it would fit in my pocket and took it everywhere. Love it.

The Olympus has a better zoom lens than the Canon. I haven't seen one but would be very interested in checking one out.

Yes, it does look like an optical viewfinder, but in reality it is not.

In case of an optical viewfinder one will be able to see the subject through it even when the camera is turned off and/or battery is taken out. If it is electronic, it isn't possible. On the other hand one can see the captured image in an electronic viewfinder, but that is obviously not possible for the other.

Have you held each of the camera and tried to take some photographs? How do each of them feel to you? If you have not, I would suggest that you do. What others feel has no bearing on how you feel. Also, I might add a little more zoom or less of it, how much Mega Pixels, and so forth will not make much of a difference at this stage - maybe in a few years!

Cheers
