Exclamation Please help my cat

Dear IndiaMikers,

we have spent nine years in India. Six of those years Mr. Socks lived alongside us. We adopted him from CUPA Bangalore when he was barely four weeks old. Since then we've had our ups and downs, but Mr. Socks was always there with us.
The time has come to leave India, and for long and winded reasons (which I would prefer not to share here) Mr. Socks will not come with us. We are now looking for a new home for him.

He is a six year old black/white male cat, vaccinated & neutered.
He is a hungry chap who likes his chicken and his mutton, but can survive on tinned food for a while, too.
He loves to snuggle up to us or lazy around on the sofa, until he suddenly gets it into his mind to zip across the house.
He is a pure house cat.

We are looking for a caring family ready to invest time and patience into a new member. We are aware that pets are not to be trifled with, not to be tossed around and not to be abandoned, but circumstances compel us to leave him behind, and we are trying to minimize the pain for him.
Please come forward to help him.

Thank you.

I am sure you are already aware that the chances of finding a good home in India are small.

Even if you can not keep him in Europe you may wish to consider to bring him to Europe and rehome him there.

There are organisations is Europe which specialise in rehoming animals from abroad (e. gStichting Aai (www.stichtingaai.nl). Some may be able to help you with rehoming if you could organise the paperwork and flight.

Whatever happens I hope you do not bring him back to the shelter.
Good luck!
The time will come when men will look upon the murder of animals as they look upon the murder of men.

Yes, I know chances are small. And no: we will not bring him back to the shelter or leave him on the streets. These are not options for us.
Thank you for the idea regarding rehoming him in Europe. This is a straw, I shall research this option.

I am very happy to hear this. I know I am often bringing this up but unfortunately people are doing it only too often so it good to hear that these are no options for you .
