They will allow dogs as long as well behaved, which I believe yours is .

Looking forward to see you later and meet Lucy.
Great! I'll be easy to spot since I'll be the white girl in the green and blue salwar kameez with the goofy looking dog.

No, unfortunately he is in Chennai for the week, working. Until Thursday, the dog is my only companion!

Latest foster - Niva

Been a bit too busy to process my photos but have had lots of fosters since. The last one is this cute white one. She was abandoned at 2 weeks, she was just a white blob! Now she is doing much better. . She will go to her new home in about two weeks.

Odin

This little boy was brought in last Friday. One of his eyes is badly damaged. He is in quite a bit of pain at the moment so he is a little grumpy. Since he is so small he can not get a lot of painkillers but after he has had it he gets somewhat more playful with Migresca a beautiful girl who has been with us for two weeks now and will go to her new home next Sunday.

On Saturday I went to vaccinate the white girl from two posts ago and I am happy to tell that she is doing great with her new family!

Hi Birds,

I will be arriving in North Goa on Friday 19th February for a 3 week stay with family in the Calangute/Candolim area. I am writing to ask you if you might be able to use some leads and possibly collars for your sanctuary also I may be able to bring at least one spray of Frontline flea spray. I only wish I had discovered the existance of your 'Adopt a Stray' site sooner and I might have been able to bring more but my suitcase is almost full of 'requests' from my family. If you wish to get in touch with me. I look forward to hearing from you. Jackie

Thanks so much Jacky for the kind words and the offer.

Please let me make clear that we do not have a sanctuary. We are just a couple of people who try to help stray animals (my bathrooms are forever occupied with some patient and the house is dogs where ever you look ).

We probably do not change an awful lot in the greater picture but can make a change for the individual animals and hope to make small differences in society.

So very, very grass root, nothing official. If that does not bother you I would love to take you up on your offer. We always short of good quality collars. We have collars here but they tend to be not suited for puppies with the metal bits being too heavy.

But even if you can't bring anything, I would be glad to introduce you to some of our animals when you are here.

New foster

Yesterday night a female pup of about 4 to 5 months was brought in after being hit by a motorbike. Luckily it seems there is no serious damage only some bruises.

As most stray pups, she had lots of ticks but this one has the most I have ever seen (see photo). I spend 2 hours removing and this morning she got a good bath.

She is now tick free happily asleep dreaming of a good home.

Her face is very beautiful and she is sweet natured, would anybody be interested in adopting her? She could go in weeks time or so.

Angry Dog in the kitchen cupboard!

In October last year I fostered a cute little male pup until he was healthy enough to be rehomed. I thought I had found a very good home as the woman had phoned 4 times requesting a pup so appeared quite committed. When I went to bring the pup I met the whole family who all seemed nice enough and very excited about getting a new dog.

Unfortunately, Tuesday I went back to pick up the dog for sterilisation and found it in a very bad state tied up in the kitchen cupboard!!! He was under weight, his hint legs were not properly formed and his coat was in a poor state. All signs of long term malnourishment.

It is beyond me why people bother taking dog if they end up treating it like this.

This mother delivered just one tiny pup a week ago. Like a good mother, the mother is very protective but immediately becomes very loving when she finds people are good to her and her baby! Of course, when the pup is bigger we will sterilise the mother and, if it survives, later the pup too.
