What is a nice gift for an amazingly warm and welcoming family?

Hi, I'm in Jodhpur right now staying at a midrange family-run hotel, and this family has gone out of their way to be welcoming and kind to us. My boyfriend has some kind of respiratory infection, and after a couple days of fever we decided it would be best to see a doctor before continuing on. The family insisted on taking us to their doctor, spent several hours going there with us, waiting there, and coming back, and all day has been checking in to make sure my boyfriend has been taking his meds.

I want to do something special for this family when we leave, but I don't want to offend them by offering extra money above and beyond the room rate. Is that indeed offensive? If so, any ideas what I might be able to give? And find in Jodhpur?

Thanks!

Something nice and decorative to brighten up the foyer or living room? (Vase, bowl, set of nice glasses, that kind of thing?) I'm sure the bazaar there would have some of that.

Not necessarily thinking of India, but I find this makes a nice gift and token of appreciation anywhere.

i.m pretty sure you've left India by now. But if this helps, you might want to give them an ornate piece of novelty furniture for their hotel like a ful length mirror, a nice chair or bench with nice details. Ü hope this helps anyone reading iv!
