US$ or EUR? Coming to India from Thailand, should I exchange my Thai Baht into US$ or Euros? Does it make a difference?

Only that the euro is holding its value better than the dollar! Both are widely accepted for change in India, so is the British Pound.

In Thailand I can make the exchange THB-EUR without paying too much commission. How about in India? Do I save money by exchanging at the airport, or by exchanging at a bank? Is there a third option?

I had changed at private exchange, and the rate was the best. Also they pay you immediately, in bank you have to fill too many papers. But of course you need declaration of exchange when you want pay in rupees at railway stations.

deposit the money in your bank account and use ATM cards. You will probably get the best conversion rates -- barring the premium you may sometimes get when you convert foreign currency in India illegally.
