Traveler's Cheques: Rupees or Dollars?
Was wondering if we should get our AMEX traveler's cheques in rupees or dollars...I know that it is illegal to bring in actual rupees but wasn't sure about it if they were in cheque form...
would they be easier to cash in if they were rupees or should we just stick with US dollars? any thoughts? thanks all! ![]()

Are they available?
Due to to rupees not being a full convertible currency, I suspect they are not. You will have no more trouble converting dollar travellers cheques than any other. Most people these days bring plastic.
