Oh dear... I'm back from that trip (Vienna was gorgeous btw) and should be getting ready for the next one!

Why worry about about the traffic, your kids will probably be eaten by tigers or rogue cows or something on day one.

It's understandable to be concerned, India can be chaotic, but no matter how much those advising you know (or think they know) about India, you are definitely the world expert in one thing, and that's your kids!

They are all different, and age has little to do with it. I know one absent minded "girl" that I wouldn't take anywhere near a busy road in India unless she was on a collar and lead - and she's in her mid 50s!

Yipes, I know her also! Oh no, it's my sister-in-law and she's 69 y.o. She lives in So. California and thinks all traffic will stop when she steps into the street! When she visited us in NJ we were constantly yanking her back to the curb

goingback wheelies come in many sizes and shapes. Two medium ones, rather than one really big one for your husband to lug around might work best & also be easier to find things! A medium duffle (which is still big & has to be checked luggage) will fit under your train seats for overnight travel, as Aupmanyev said. My wheelie duffle is medium & holds alot. Mine is not like this but the size is about the same. I'm not recommending this bag, I don't know anything about it, just showing you for size.http://www.worldofbags.com/26-inch-w...gh-sierra-5526 Mine is actually an inch shorter.

Wheelie luggage is great but in India I like to travel with my back pack. I find it easier to traverse the rough terrain, the railway station stairs and move thru crowds all in one piece. I like to have my bag attached to me and my hands free...
A good fitting back pack is built to be carried and mine is comfortable. Some of the wheelie/back pack combos don't look like they would be comfortable to carry any distance.
