Tailored clothing?
Namaste,
I'll be in India for the months of march, april and ealry may. Ill be starting off in southern india in march and plan on packing super light.(A single back pack, with 2 changes of clothes and the clothes on my back). I will be wearing and bringin light clothing, but when i reach Haridwar and head up into Uttaranchal it will be chilly that time of year. Will tailored clothing be cheap to buy, because I generally want it to be disposible.(well will be giving it away if possible when im done with them) Thank you! ![]() |

Hi Yogi,
This is good planning. You can easily purchase some light / heavy woolens from Haridwar. I can say from my personal experience that sweaters and jackets are very economical in Haridware as compared to other big cites (except Ludhiyana and some other towns). And the quality of the product is good. Quote:
Nadreg, thats great!!!! My observation is : if you are trying to stick to big brands it is not economical at Haridwar but they have a very good supply line from Punjab (Ludhiyana – Amritsar is famous for manufacturing); moreover, you can find some Ashram (both Govt. and privet welfare organizations) made clothing which is perfect for that kind of chilly weather (well, not very fashionable). - Somnath

There's some great little tailors in the narrow alleyways of Paharganj (Delhi). I think I had a tanktop shell tailored and it cost me 75 Rs for the work done (not including the material).
