Suggestions after 3 days here
Here are some suggestions on what to bring now that I've got 3 days experience in Mumbai in December.
1) If you are lucky enough to go outside, it is very hot all the time. You won't need to carry around a sweater even at night. 2) If you aren't lucky enough to go outside, (like if you will be working in an office and have nice drivers to take you everywhere all the time) then you do need a sweater or at least long sleeves. I'm so freezing! Please turn off the air conditioning! 3) No need to worry too much about your clothes. Nobody stares at me and I'm just wearing my regular clothes from home. Nothing skimpy, just normal things. Jeans, Western office clothes, whatever. Lots of Indian women dress this way, too. 4) Just because your hotel has a regular US electrical outlet doesn't mean that anything you plug in will stay in the plug. Get an adapter or you will have no camera batteries, no ipod, and no phone. I hope my list is helpful. |
