sleeping bag?

hello travelers...

I'm going to India in mid October. I'm joining an Intrepid tour that will start in Dehli and end in Kathmandu. I know that one of the nights will be river camping. I am wondering if the weather will require me to bring a sleeping bag and if so, if anyone could recommend a lightweight bag that can be packed small.

thanks!

these prices are retail and you can cut good internet deals. This site generally shows good equipment which will last many years, if this is more than you care to spend then check out Academy or the local Army Navy. If nothing else this site will teach you what features to look for.

As for weather conditions, I've never been to India so someone else will help you there

Lots of Luck

Have you checked with Intrepid? Perhaps they make some arrangements as they probably don't expect someone to bring along a sleeping bag for 1 night's use.

A hostel-type sleep sheet, or a sleeping bag liner, is good to bring along however, as you will probably find there are times when you will prefer your own sheets to those provided; blankets, where needed, are usually never a problem.

My personal choice for warm country travel is a hybrid bag -- sheet on one side and a thinly-insulated layer on the other side. I need blankets on top when at hill stations, but the sheet side mostly enough for Goa and the insulated side was nice for January when the mornings a bit cool. Don't know if you can find something similar in your area, but mine was from Mountain Equipment Coop in Canada and looks like this:

-m2- is probably correct on the guide supplying a bag, but if you do buy I would suggest you do not get a full mummy bag unless you plan on using the bag for serious expeditions were an ounce or two is important.

If you're not used to a mummy bag you will not sleep well because you can't change positions or ball up etc., get a semi mummy or full

You might try these people too
