Sleeping bag or not??

Sleeping bags, to take or not to take?, that is the question.

I will be going to Northern India this coming November and don't know whether to bring along the sleeping bag.

Will be going to Delhi, Jaipur,Jaisalmer, Simla, McLeodganj, Agra, Varanasi, Darjeeling, Calcutta plus a few others.

Will be staying in Middle-type accommodation, no bottom-end dorms.

Is the SB worth it?, it does pack down fairly well BUT is still taking up room/weight. However I don't want to freeze at night either.

Opinions would be most welcome

If you can find a small sleeping bag that isn't too bulky, then I would suggest it.

Also if you are going on a budget, keep in mind that most places in the north charge extra for a heater and a sleeping bag usually will keep you warm enough. Even in middle class places heat will be extra because it consumes electric current like crazy.

You can also buy sleeping bags many places, especially in Delhi, but the quality is not always as good.

I don't have one but many people I know carry them and prefer them to sleeping on foreign sheets and mattresses.
