i don't think a big thick sheet is necesarry.
just a light bed sheet as some hotel sheets are......uh less than spotles....nights will be warm i thought by my standards<canada get a lot colder in winter> u can ask for extra blanket if u need at hotel/hostel or purchase one from vendor for cheap and it'll put food in his/her families mouth by giving them business

I have a thing for the Solapur blankets, available all over the South. Cotton, cheeeeeeep! light but durable, very washable, and surprisingly effective for those mildly chilly dawns in S India.

If you need a sheet, just buy a lungi (the sarong Tamil men wear). It won't be cold, but you might like a little cover. Lungis double as bathrobes, towels, picnic blankets. Tamil babies sleep in them, suspended from the ceiling. There is a Tamil proverb extolling the virtues of the lungi, noting that if all else fails you can hang yourself with it.
