easy to pick one up second hand in the shops around Thamel in Katmandu. Completely worthless in most (not all! ) of India

It's not worth taking a sleeping bag with you for only four nights. On a four day trek I imagine you won't be going to very high altitudes. Sleeping bags can be hired in many shops around Pokhara and Kathmandu.

The trekking lodges provide bedding so a combination of the two should be enough. A sheet sleeping bag for both India and Nepal is a useful item though.
