size 12 shoes!

is it possible to get size 11/ 12 trainers anywhere in india? the last time i went there were alot of infuriatingly cheap shoes not above size 9.

don't really want to lug my current trainers into my backpack so advice is good. i'll just wear sandals most of the time i'm thinking in case i go on a trek

Try the international footwear brands - Nike, Adidas or Reebok. I have seen size 11 footwear in these stores, although rare.

hehehe now understand my frustration of being a size 12 Indian for years. Till a couple of years back I always had to ask someone coming from abroad to get shoes for me, though nowadays things are much better. Adidad, Reebok and Nike now have size 12 and sometimes even 13 in most of their showrooms, so you will definitely get them in any store carrying these brands, though the variety would be limited.

I recommend an extra pair

I wear size 13's and I think it would be absolutely insane not to take an extra pair of shoes on any trip anywhere outside of the "first world" with me, let alone India. This time I'll be taking two pairs of good shoes and one pair of sandals. A huge pain in the neck, but I have never found shoes in size 13 anywhere. It is even hard here in Europe half the time and the selection is horrible.

I found a great shop in Darjeeling with lots of cheap western brand clothes, shoes etc.. I'm a 12 shoe wise and the prospect of taking home $40 Doc Martens was brilliant... not a chance!!
