Shoes

I'm planning to do a couple of adivasi/national parks tours in Oct-Dec (like Ranthambore, Kaziranga, Orissa), ca. one week each if I have understood guide books and Internet sites correctly. What kind of shoes should I bring? My size will be absent from Indian stores. Mountaineering boots, sturdy trainers, or just heavy-duty city shoes?

Useful conversion page!

So it's 12 UK. Anyway, they are sometimes difficult enough to find here in Sweden and even more so in for example England.
