Secure Travelling
I recently picked up a brochure from a travelling and hiking store which had all of the security gear for safe travelling that I had been looking for for a while, shoulder traps with steel wire so they can't be cut, day packs with steel mesh so it can't be slashed, really great stuff from pacsafe.

well, i started off with one of those backpack steel net things. it lasted one train journey. i found the thing to be completely impractical - it added quite a lot of weight to my backpack and moving around without getting caught on things was a nightmare. i sent it home as soon as i arrived at my first destination. a padlock and chain was as much security as i needed.

True I am sure that the extra weight for the full mesh net could be a concern but then again no pack or a slashed pack would be a greater downer. Personally I like the idea of the travelsafe, stashsafe, carrysafe, etc accessories as I don't use a pack but a bloody great suitcase and a porter attached. Last time I travelled I used the big hard plastic cases, a bit of a hassle at times but pretty bullet proof.

Just relax, India is much more safer then the subway of New York, Paris or London.
