Hi (first post!!)
I have never travelled to India before and am wondering what to pack. There is a lot of talk on here about salwar kameez, which i assume are readily available - but can you buy the separate parts, and are they cheaper? eg/ cotton hareem pants and a cheap cotton top?

also, someone mentioned something about it being difficult to find tampons in India - we ladies need to know these things!

Providing you are a smallish size (up to US size 14) you can buy SK ready-made in some markets in Delhi, in state emporiums, and touristy shopping areas -- bargain hard! If you're larger than that, plan on going to a tailor and having clothing made for you.

You can buy long shirts (kurtas) in many shops, but I've never seen "harem pants" outside of very touristy places -- so it depends on where you'll be.

also, someone mentioned somOB tampons are available in many drugstores; if you prefer another brand, take 'em with you.
