SA to India

Hi guys,
I will be travelling to India from South Africa in April.I want to kno whether i should convert my SA Rands to US dollars, or just take the SA Rands To India and covert them there directly to ruppes... ThNKS

Off the top of my head, I would think convert to dollars which are easily exchanged here anywhere. I haven't seen SA Rands listed in any of the money exchange places around here and I doubt that the banks would do this either.
