Don't remember the name of the pub, but i was staying at abbey court hotel, which was around hyde park, and it was quite a packed pub on a saturday night. I remember the pint being around £8, because it was only like 4 months ago that i had it.

Thanks for that, i will certainly avoid that area.Went last week with some friends in fleet street, city of london, where everything smells of money and paid £8.70 for 3 pints.Suppose you find your kind of prices in some places, but on the whole it's much cheaper, which is dear enough anyway.

Yeah I didn't really have a chance to really go around london much except for the major tourist attractions like the eye, big ben, buckhingam, etc... because I was only there for 2 days, and I had to go to Paris from there. Pretty nice city, except riding the Tube is kind of confusing The next time i'm there, i'll definitely go for the £3 beers

Kingstonian, to be honest I thought all of Europe was realllllyyyy expensive, especially London's hotels. But I will admit that it was all WELL worth it, I loved my 1 month trip, and I will definitely be going back sometime in 2010, and this time I plan on going for a longer time.

The only thing that I thought was really weird in london was how they had the paid bathrooms in the middle of the sidewalks. LOL

Yeah!
When you're coming back, check it out with some of the IM Londoners - I'm sure plenty will be glad to give up-to-date itinerary advice on London, too!

To be noted too is that if you come with us $ to europe you will find it pretty expensive due to the exchange rate. The euro gained nearly 20% in the last 3 months alone.

Yes!!! that's really putting a strain on our pockets!! Like a Frapp at Starbucks in US is like $4, but in London the same thing was like £4, which turns out to be $8!!

hm, ahem, i guess a thank you (to shashank.aggarwal... and others) might be in order! very helpful.

pretty sure our guys are not going to be getting much western fast food (if anything, they're likely to be too far from any major urban centers to, even if they craved it).

thanks again, and hope to check in soon again... tho i don't seem able to remember the price of toothpaste in india, indiamike somehow still manages to hold my interest!

Oh, come to Canada!! Some of the best Indian food I've had in the whole world has been in Toronto....!!!!! (second to Al Ain, Abu Dhabi - where you can stuff yourself all night for less than $5!)
(but the beer sucks in Canada!......no "home ales" here....)
