McDonalds is definitely marketed as an outing. They get the kids hooked that way.

It would be more in line with the comparative cost of living.

A dosa in London is ten times the price of a dosa in Chennai, but, in London, S. Indian veggie food is still one of cheapest ways to eat out.

I noticed when I was in London, Indian food has pretty much become a daily part of their diet. So many nights we went out to pubs to drink, and had indian chicken/lamb curries to curb the late-night munchies later on. I think North Indian food is more popular and cheaper though than S.Indian Veg food in England. Indian food in England is like BK or McD in America.

BTW, you english have way better indian restaurants than we do here in America.

Agree re "rip-off Britain" but must've been one hell of a big glass. £8 indeed! I'm sure the Indian touts must get excited when you approach if you'll pay this for a pint in Blighty.

But that is still in Delhi, isn't it? There were places where I did not see such low prices, only ordinary landline phone connections. To speak of which, in Delhi the prices for Netphone are much too high. In Pondy they are 2-3 Rupees per minute.

I guess you have been cheated with. Even we charge the same amount..but depends on the country where you want to call..

calls to US/UK/Canada are generally the cheapest..going for around Rs.3 per minutes..
