possibly strange question...
In the throes of packing, please advise. What do people wear to sleep in ,summertime in India? At home I wear an old t-shirt,but I am scared of mosquito bites. Do I need long sleeves, what about a/c hotels, is it enough to wear a t-shirt and cover myself in anti-mozzie stuff?

Hi piglet,
I've been traveling southern India (Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu) for over a month now and have not seen or heard a single mosquito in my hotel room at night! I have stayed in non-ac rooms in hotels of various quality. Can someone please explain this? Before the trip one of my biggest worries was how to deal with all those mosquitoes. So far I've been carrying around a mozzie net and repellant for nothing... People, go to Lapland in the summer if you want to experience a serious mozzie attack ![]() |

Piglet, I sleep in an old longhi (sarong), and I am smeared with some DEET-containing mosquito repellant.
And I sleep with the fan on, and usually cover myself with another old longhi. Mosquitos can't land in the wind!
