packing tip for paperstuff

I got an idea to scan all the important papers to my computer and send them and other necessary information to my email. That way, if I happen to need a copy of my passport, flyingticket, addresses and numbers - you name it - they can be easily printed out in a cyber cafe.

Why don't you let me and others know if you have any tips (read warnings) against this method (like viruses, hackers)?

good thinking.
also make some copies of your passport to put in your luggage.
dont worry bout hackers, just keep your password for yourself. and if you open your mail in cybercafe, make sure you dont leave things behind on the computer you used.

Yeah, and you need to remember to use that e-mail which stores your information, or otherwise it'll be deactivated and all information shall be gone without recovery.
That had happened to my yahoo.
I know there are free e-mails like yahoo, hotmail and gmail, but I don't know how often you need to log in them in order to keep them functioning.
