Packing for Monsoon Season?
I am in the north of India for most of August, I am not entirely sure of my itinerary, but I think I fly into Delhi and will spend probably around 10 days in Rajasthan. After that I may head further north, possibly to a hill station. From then I will simply travel down through Agra, Varanasi etc through to Calcutta.
I have some clothes I will be taking that cover me up and are fairly 'modest' but is there anything else I should be taking because of the monsoon? Also, I'm planning on taking some flip flops, is it also a good idea to take a pair of sturdier shoes like walking boots? Thanks! |

I personally find flips too unsure on my feet when wet and/or humid. I took a pair of Keen Newports with me during my monsoon stay (Feb-July) in Varanasi. I liked the security of them on my feet, that they had a sturdy toe but were also very airy due to slits along the sides and tops. I took a pair of 'real' shoes too, but - except for the flight to India and home - never wore them.
