Here are the temperatures for Delhi . Minimum temperatures at night would be a bit lower than this in the countryside or smaller towns, especially in the desert areas of Rajasthan.

Temperatures in the Himalayan hill stations will be much lower. For example winter temperatures in Shimla can range from a minimum of -4C to a max of 16C.

Sounds about right. If you find a long sleeve shirt and sweater plus fleece isn't cutting it in the north, you can simply buy a shawl to top if all off with.....you'll probably want to buy one anyway. They are surprisingly warm.

Here are my suggestions:
- Jeans x1 -- Take an extra pair
- Linen Trousers x1
- Long Cotton Skirt x1 - buy in india
- Long sleeved cotton tunic top x2 - buy in india
- Sleeveless Vest x2 - sleeveless not advisable, unless it will be worn with a sleeved garment
- Tshirt x2 - take a few more if you are going for a month
- Lightweight Sweater x1 - take a sweatshirt instead
- Fleece x1 - if you are not going into the mountains, a sweat shirt will be sufficient
- Flipflops x1 - - buy in india
- Walking Boots x1
