No luggage?
Ill be going to India soon, everone asks me if Im all packed, its at that point I tell them Im not bringing anything. My plan is to throw away my clothes and buy what the locals wear. Why carry stuff around? I'm I crazy? Has anyone else tried this? How did it work out?

I would guess about the same as traveling to New Jersey, throwing away your clothes and buying what the locals wear.

Good idea if you are a woman, but for men the local dess is mostly trousers & shirts now. You can buy all that for much less in India.

Yes, but why bother?
As jyotirmoy says, you're going to be buying trousers and shirts (unless you want to go really trad). You already own trousers and shirts, and you have a baggage allowance: why not use it?

I think you need help mate, there's nobody else on the moon.
Get to the airport early and be prepared for a lot of questions. I did this a few years ago, unfortunately it was just after that shoe bomber (who had no luggage), so the airport authorities now seem to (rightly) have a policy of "if the actions seem strange, investigate". |
