Hi there, im new to this post. I just wanted to know if taking a large extended trip backpack with me would be stupid. Im plan on being in india for about 6 months. I dont plan to stay in a hotel. Im probably going to stay in an ashram, hostel, or just camp out. Im going to bring a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, backpacking stove, and about 3 pairs of clothes.
thanks a lot.

in case you re not camping taking a tent with you is stupid, also the stove not really necessary, but in case your going to camp or even trekk it can be of good use, depends on what you want to do, i d take more t shirts and leave the stove and probably the tent, i did camping years ago in Goa on top of vagator beach....was nice and hot, but now during monsoon season it could become a mass, and only used my tent once in the himalayas-kullu valley. which area you are going to be....enjoy your trip, and calculate the monsoon can get heavy...
