My favorite baggage!

Hi,

I had a look at the onebag site:

http://onebag.oratory.com/home.html

Pretty interesting site! Indeed!

But I must tell you that I do not agree with their conclusion about wheel equiped bags. They say::

"The above opinion is not, incidentally, merely an idiosyncratic one on my part: Westways magazine (in its May/June 2000 issue) surveyed five travel/packing authorities, and every one of them recommended against the use of rolling bags."

The bag I use is like the one below. It is a carry on but I never bring it inside the airplane any more. After 9/11.... well you know.

On my first trip to Asia, I stopped for one week in Tokyo. I was travelling with a shoulder belt carry on bag. Not heavy, maybe 8 kilos. I still remember how exausted I was carring this bag From airport to Ikebukuro station then to my gaijin house. Maybe 3 Km total, from Airport to train, train to metro, metro change and metro to house.

The first thing I did in Hong Kong was to buy some wheels.

Since then, I bought this bag I never had to regret it.

Yes it weight more than another bag. Maybe 2,5 or 3 kilos more and it is less roomy but it will hold everything that I decided that I need. The total weight do not exceed 10 kilos when ready to go.

I am a big walker and this bag is really not a burden even if I have to walk with it for hours, which I do from time to time.

This is really my favorite bag but I don't tell you that it should be yours. To me, "small is beautifull" and if it happen to have wheels, then it is wonderfull.
