Moving on the train
Hello,
My wife and I are moving from Kerala up to Uttar Pradesh. We are thinking of shipping our belongings on the Indian train, but are waylaid by not knowing the procedure (someone said they will only ship things parcel that are in metal trunks or wooden boxes),and also we are still unsure of the cost. The distance is about 2300 kilometres, and we have a fair amount of things (weve been living in India for six months now in a rented house with a small child). Our biggest item is a wooden cabinet that is quite heavy and bulky, other than that everything else would fit in a small car load. Does anyone know how such a load would be moved on the train, what the procedure is, and how much it would cost? Is it cheaper to hire a private moving company? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Book at Railway parcel office. You'll get packers there itself.
It's a good way to move goods.
