Kerala First two weeks in May essentials

Hi

Just making a list of essentials to take to Kerala after booking a last minute flight. Apart from passport/toiletries/sun cream/ clothes/reading material/camera/Insect repellent/travellers cheques.

What should I take? Will I need a mosquito net for instance? Any tips on essential items would be great!

Planning to visit Cochin, Backwaters, Periyar, and Kovalam.

Thanks

Underpants!

A net may be good if you are staying in low-budget places, but it is getting rather warm for non-ac rooms, late April.

You can take an umbrella to keep the sun off, and the rain too. Met someone off the train today who spent last week there who said it rained every evening. Monsoon die May 20th; If you're there you'll be drenched, even with the umbrella.

Enjoy the trip --- and welcome to the site

additions to toiletries?

Disinfectant hand wipes, and disinfectant (alcohol) hand gel--
you may already have included these in your toiletries.

Have a wonderful trip, Daveblueowls!
