Hey guys,

Am planning head into Delhi early February and making my way to the Rishikesh and the mountain towns in Kumoan (Kusani,Almora, Binsar etc).

Ok the problem is I do not have any warm clothes (I live in a tropical country). The closest it gets to is a couple of jumpers. Does it snow in February in Kusani etc? Is it going to be VERY cold?

Do I have to get warm clothes, like a jacket (fleece?) and woolen stuff, woolen socks etc, b4 i head to india or should i wait until i get to India and then buy them? Can i get them in Delhi?

Since im on a veryy tight budget, i guess it matters to me how much it costs. If im getting them in India, is it cheaper to get it in Delhi or just have a couple of jumpers for Delhi, and then get warmer stuff in Haridwar/Rishikesh (i.e. if it is cheaper there, than Delhi)?

How much would a warm jacket and a couple of woolen sweaters cost?

Cheers,
Sudz

Yes, buy in Delhi, will be cheaper.

To keep costs down, thermals (long johns) are a good start.

Ahem gents, unless he can hop into a time-machine and go back to 2006, I don't think sudz will be doing any buying as of now.

Never mind, I'm sure the next traveller going that way will find this useful.

Well, it may have been too late for the person who originally asked the question, but it was just in time for me, so thanks

Lots of places in Delhi will offer great discounts on winter garments in February.
